Syagrus romanzoffiana, the pindó or ybá pitá palm, is a species in the palm family (Arecaceae). It is native to southern Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay, and the Argentine coast.It is planted today as an ornamental, and has been introduced for this purpose in other tropical, subtropical and even Mediterranean regions of the world, being commonly used in urban planning. In relation to other palms, it tolerates relatively poor soils and cool temperatures well.Other names: "coquito", "yerivá" in Argentina and Paraguay, "coco de cachoeira", "guariroba" in Brazil. It is also known as Feathery Coco.In various formats.
